Pentrosfa Holdings (Pty) Ltd is a company formed to facilitate, encourage and oversee an active and prosperous farming and industrial community in Umhlabuyalingana Municipality in northern KwaZulu-Natal as a way out of poverty, food insecurity, rural unemployment and underdevelopment. Pentrosfa will seek and utilise grant, humanitarian, developmental, commercial and partnership funding to work with local people, established farmers, traditional leadership, local authorities, government departments and strategic partners to establish farming, livestock, agro-processing, infrastructure, logistics, trading, training and market-access projects.

The Founder of Pentrosfa came from rural beginnings to work in the nursing profession, which took her all over the world. From working in different cultures she has come to understand both the strengths and the weaknesses of African communities, and especially the need for people to find ways to develop in their confidence and ability and to create their own independent paths in life. She already has experience of owning and running a township restaurant for five years, preparing and selling African food. Pentrosfa grew out of a desire to build businesses which are in tune with African life and which contribute to the communities we all come from.
